Sashiko is a traditional form of Japanese embroidery that uses a basic running stitch to create repetitive patterns. For beginners, these pre-printed cloths make learning the art of Sashiko easy. For the more advanced stitchers, we had a blast with color play testing the possibilities of the extra-short variegations found only in Sue Spargo's line of Eleganza Perle Cotton. These cloths can easily be turned into usable pieces - from coasters to placemats, pincushions to pillows, individual samplers or combine as part of a larger project, turn into a tote or zippered bag... the possibilities are endless.
