Remove Chalk Marks from Wool

Some people find using a chalk pencil on wool disconcerting, but we've found it to be the most dependable and risk-free way to mark. The reason for hesitancy is that if you mistakenly mark in the incorrect place, it appears that your only alternative is to wait for the chalk to wear off over time. As I'm sure we've all discovered, attempting to rub away that pesky mark will just result in a big ole' nasty chalk stain. The days of worrying about where to put your pencil point in case of a misplaced chalk mark are over! After considerable deliberation and testing, we've discovered the best tool set for confidently removing chalk marks from wool.

Meet the Sewline Aqua Eraser Pen & Soak!

Supplies:

To show just how great this works, we've drawn some extra heavy, exaggerated marks on our wool. For actual wool projects, any markings made would be much softer and smaller.

First, we have to fill our Aqua Eraser Pen with water.

Begin by unscrewing the top section of the reservoir.

Place the open end of the reservoir into the water and pull up the clear plunger to draw in the water.

Flip the pen so the open end is upright, and push the clear plunger up to expel any air that may be inside.

Place the open end of the reservoir into the water and pull up on the clear plunger again. This will fill the chamber with water.

Screw the top section back onto the reservoir. Press the plunger slightly to wet the tip.

TIP: Once the above steps are complete, to dampen the tip once again, simply push the pink button on the side of the pen.

Now it's time to prepare our Soak!

We prefer to pour our Soak into a small container so that it's easy to use and can be conveniently stored with other stitching supplies.

Dip the Aqua Eraser's damp tip into the Soak. You don't need a lot; just a quick dip will do!

Dab the chalk lines with the tip of the pen, then squeeze the button on the side of the Aqua Eraser to release the water. You don't need a lot of water (or Soak), so start with a small amount and add more as needed. Continue dabbing at the mark until it fades away.

TIP: Make sure to dab at the chalk marks; do not rub, as hard, vigorous rubbing could leave you with a fuzzy patch.

The Soak will make tiny suds, but this amazing biodegradable, no-rinse formula means you don't need to worry about a soapy residue being left behind!

Let your wool sit to dry; no rinsing or wringing is needed!

Once your wool is dry, admire the results! The Aqua Eraser Pen & Soak are the easiest and most effective dynamic duo we know to remove marks from wool, leaving your projects clean and chalk-free.
