Recently we shared one of our favorite notions with you, the Hot Ruler. It has become an irreplaceable tool for turning the edges of cotton appliqué in our studio. The love everyone has shown for this handy tool has been so amazing that we wanted to introduce you to the Hot Ruler's sister tool.. the Hot Hemmer!
Available in Two Sizes
Hot Hemmer
5" x 6" with Square Cutout
Hot Hemmer, Square
6" x 6"
Made from the same ultra-thin, heat-resistant nylon that has pushed the Hot Ruler to the status of a sewing space holy grail, we're sure the Hot Hemmer will be just as essential to your future sewing projects!
This "Hot" duo does the hard work for you to make measuring and pressing a breeze, instead of an annoying extra step in your creative process.
Clover's amazing heat-resistant nylon allows you to press directly on the ruler, giving you perfectly crisp and straight folds every time. The non-slip surface keeps your measurements in place while still being easy to lift and move around your fabric when you need to.
The Hot Hemmer is smaller than the Hot Ruler, so it's ideal for projects that don't need as long of a straight edge, where the extra length would get in the way.
Just like the Hot Ruler, the Hot Hemmer makes struggling with mitered corners a thing of the past! The angled line, starting from the 90-degree corner, works as a guide for folding up the corner of your fabric; then simply press, and you have a perfect corner! Check out our tutorial on the Hot Ruler for the step by steps HERE.
The square cutout on the Hot Hemmer gives you the ability to measure in and over at the same time, ideal for squaring up the bottom of bags and determining the placement of buttons, beads, or stitches!
A rounded corner allows you to easily press rounded edges into fabric so easily. Just gather the fabric up around the rounded edge and press. Then trim the excess fabric, and you're ready!
The rounded corner is ideal for shirt pockets, curved shapes in cotton appliqué projects, bags with rounded corners, or anywhere else your creativity takes you. It can also be used as a cutting template to achieve a perfect curve!
And don't forget about the Hot Hemmer, Square! It's fantastic for pressing all sizes of Dresden wedges for Dresden quilt blocks, pressing under edges of quilt block appliqués, and geometric appliqués for quilting, hemming, and miter corners.
