Did you know you can easily add beads to i-cords with the Original Cordsmith and the Cordsmith Mini? It’s simpler than you think—and the results are beautiful! We’ll show you just how easy it is, along with the many variations and creative uses for beaded i-cords.

If you’re new to the magic of i-cord making, be sure to check out our previous tutorials on the Original Cordsmith HERE and the Cordsmith Mini HERE, where we cover all the basics of using these clever tools.

Supplies

For Thinner i-Cords (lace weight - super fine weight)

For Thicker i-Cords (super fine weight - bulky weight)

How To

  • When working with beads, it's very helpful to have a Bead Scoop and Mat or a Sticky Bead Mat to keep the beads from rolling everywhere!
  • Thread your needle leaving the thread or yarn attached to the spool or ball.
  • Load up the needle with beads, sliding them down the thread a little ways. Add as many beads as you think you'll use for your project.
  • Remove the needle and cast-on to the Cordsmith. See how in the video below.

Once you have a small section of i-cord started, you can begin adding beads. The beads can be spaced close together or further apart and can even be doubled up if you choose. See how in the video below!
