Kantha is a fabric and embroidery technique from Southeast Asia, specifically Bangladesh, traditionally made by reusing discarded fabrics in order to create a patchwork appearance and give old fabric a new life. This fabric is often embellished with embroidery and hand stitching, especially the running stitches that go the length of the piece, as well as edge stitching.
