Unlock your creativity and expand your knowledge of sewing beautiful, functional rope bowls using cotton sash cord! This class will guide you through various creative techniques as you explore different shapes, weaving and finishing styles, inspiration and ideas for creating your own custom rope bowls.
Leave this workshop with the skills and confidence to create a variety of customized bowls and other projects, perfect for gifts or personal use.

Create a variety of rope bowls or trivets using a variety of techniques! In this class, you will:
  • Explore Different Shapes: Learn how to sew bowls in various shapes, including oblong, oval, square, and more.
  • Add Handles: Discover techniques for incorporating handles into your bowls, making them more functional and versatile.
  • Experiment with Weaving Styles: Try out different weaving patterns and styles to add texture and interest to your creations.
  • Customize Your Projects: Get creative with colors, patterns, and embellishments to make your bowls uniquely yours.
  • Inspiration and Ideas: Explore other creative ways to use cotton sash cord, such as making plant hangers, baskets, and more.

This workshop is great for sewing enthusiasts looking to expand their skills!
Some rope sewing experience or previous Rope Bowls class required.

Each workshop registration will receive a Rope Bowl Starter Kit that includes cotton sash cording for 2 to 3 rope bowls. Additional cotton sash cord available for purchase. You will also need to bring:

  • Sewing machine with zig zag capabilities
  • 50wt cotton thread (white or ecru)
  • Pre-filled bobbins with 50wt cotton thread (white or ecru)
  • Cotton fabric scraps (at least 3/4" wide)
  • Jeans/Denim needles
  • Glue stick
  • Sewing pins
  • Large beads (optional)
  • Perfect Circles (optional)
Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees reflect the cost of registration, staff, instructor contracts, material acquisitions, and other services. This policy applies to all registrants, regardless of the reason for canceling. We encourage you to take our cancellation policies into consideration before registering for classes.

If you need to cancel your registration, you have the following options:

Transfer:

Registrants who cancel their enrollment in a workshop held in our Ohio studio may make a one-time transfer to any other workshop held in our studio.

  • Transfers may be made either in the current workshop season, or any workshop in the following year. Transfers must be made more than 15 days prior to the workshop, and are subject to a 5% cancellation fee.

Refund:

If you prefer not to transfer your workshop registration, the following fees apply:

  • More than 30 days prior to the workshop, refund of your deposit minus a 20% cancellation fee.
  • Less than 30 days prior to the workshop, no refunds will be issued.

Redirect:

Registrants are able to send someone in their place into the workshop for no additional fee. In this case, no refunds will be issued, payment arrangements are the responsibility of the original registrant if needed.

Class is held in our Ohio Studio located at 3755 Boettler Oaks Dr, Suite B, Uniontown, OH 44685. Class is held from 9am to 12pm, Thursday, September 19. 

Supplies are available for purchase in-store during class if not purchased ahead of time.
