We’re thrilled to announce our very first gallery show at Sue Spargo, featuring the extraordinary work of Janice Schindeler—an artist whose creative journey is shaped by a deep love of food, storytelling, and the art of making.

Second only to her love for her family, Janice’s passions for food and quilting have shaped a truly unique creative voice. From her days as a food journalist and “Hamburger Queen” to becoming known across Texas as the “Pimento Cheese Goddess,” her rich culinary history finds new expression in fabric and thread. Trained in traditional quilting techniques in Australia and the UK, Janice transforms classic methods into imaginative works that explore food, narrative, and the tactile beauty of wool appliqué.

Deeply inspired by years of friendship with Sue, Janice’s quilts are vibrant, whimsical, and technically masterful—each piece a celebration of skill, curiosity, and joy. We invite you to experience this debut exhibition and discover quilts that are as satisfying and layered as the stories behind them.
