Mending & Upcycling

Give your well-loved garments new life in this hands-on class all about mending with style! Learn a variety of creative techniques to repair, refresh, and upcycle your clothes — turning wear and tear into wearable art. We’ll explore fabric patching, visible mending, sashiko and boro stitching, embellishing using stick-on stencils, and more! Whether you're fixing a favorite pair of jeans or adding flair to a thrifted find, you'll leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, and a renewed appreciation for slow fashion.

No prior sewing experience needed! Just bring a needle & thread, and something to mend!

Meet the instructors!

Sarah has been with the Sue Spargo team since July 2021 and has been a fabulous addition to our web team! Her ambition, creativity and bubbly personality radiate through Sue Spargo newsletters and social media posts, photography for our website, and is even stitched into some of the samples in our retail shop. When Sarah is not working, she enjoys spending time with her three daughters, stitching, sewing, crochet and photography.

Erin is part of the Creative Web Team here at Sue Spargo's. As an artist and former art teacher, she loves working in a creative environment and always looks forward to producing our weekly Creative Classroom content. Outside of work, you'll find her painting, stitching, gardening, or supporting her two children in their sports and hobbies.
