Magic Pockets!
with Deborah Fisher
A great introduction to sewing stuffies and other 3 dimensional projects, this class will focus on the Magic Pockets Pattern. Learn to sew tight curves for appendages, insert trims into seams, sew trapunto noses and simple embroidery stitches for sweet faces. These fun little projects make the perfect gift! Each pocket is just the right size to hold an additional present of a gift card or money. Make them as a tooth fairy pillow. Add a love note. Choose the Rabbit, Cat, Bear, Person, Monster, Dinosaur, or House. Customize them in countless ways!
Meet the instructor!
Deborah Fisher is an object and pattern designer and a lifelong maker of handmade treasures. She is the circus juggler and museum curator behind Fish Museum and Circus, a studio specializing in charming miscellany for the sewing room, maker’s studio, and creative home. Deborah’s quirky, colorful style shines in all her creations — from her popular ceramic and wool pincushions to her distinctive sewing patterns and whimsical sewing- and yarn-themed stickers and notecards. She is also a licensed fabric designer for Windham Fabrics and lives on the North Shore of Long Island, NY.
Please bring the following supplies to class:
- Magic Pockets Pattern
- Small amounts of a variety of fabric, 4" x 7" or smaller
- Rick rack, ball fringe, trims, buttons, and anything else you want to customize your Magic Pockets
- Fill (Poly, cotton, wool, or batting scraps, crushed walnut shells)
- Embroidery floss or perle cotton
- Tube turner (There will be several of these in class for you to try out)
- Wax free transfer paper, chalk pencil or other fabric marking tool

This event is held in-person in our Ohio Studio, located at 3792 Boettler Oaks Dr. Green, OH 44685.
Lunches will be provided each day of the workshop, as well as morning and afternoon refreshments, coffee, tea, and use of our fridge and kitchen. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate!
Supplies are available for purchase in-store during class if not purchased ahead of time.

Cancellation Policy (1/2-1 day classes)
Cancellation fees reflect the cost of registration, staff, instructor contracts, material acquisitions, and other services. This policy applies to all registrants, regardless of the reason for canceling. We encourage you to take our cancellation policies into consideration before registering for classes.
If you need to cancel your registration, you have the following options:
Transfer:
Registrants who cancel their enrollment in a workshop held in our Ohio studio may make a one-time transfer to any other workshop held in our studio.
- Transfers may be made either in the current workshop season, or any workshop in the following year. Transfers must be made more than 15 days prior to the workshop, and are subject to a 5% cancellation fee.
Refund:
If you prefer not to transfer your workshop registration, the following fees apply:
- More than 30 days prior to the workshop, refund of your deposit minus a 20% cancellation fee.
- Less than 30 days prior to the workshop, no refunds will be issued.
Redirect:
Registrants are able to send someone in their place into the workshop for no additional fee. In this case, no refunds will be issued, payment arrangements are the responsibility of the original registrant if needed.
