Fruit & Vegetable Pincushions
with Deborah Fisher
Get an introduction to making 3 dimensional forms and pattern pieces while making fun pincushions! We will machine and hand sew a lovely functional strawberry pincushion from wool. A variety of embroidery stitches will be taught for seeds, and beads and sequins may be added. We will finish off our strawberries with a felt top, ribbon stem, and a flower. Next, we will work on the whimsical pickle pincushion, and also discuss banana, carrot, apple, blueberry, and other fruit and vegetable pincushions as time allows.
Meet the instructor!
Deborah Fisher is an object and pattern designer and a lifelong maker of handmade treasures. She is the circus juggler and museum curator behind Fish Museum and Circus, a studio specializing in charming miscellany for the sewing room, maker’s studio, and creative home. Deborah’s quirky, colorful style shines in all her creations — from her popular ceramic and wool pincushions to her distinctive sewing patterns and whimsical sewing- and yarn-themed stickers and notecards. She is also a licensed fabric designer for Windham Fabrics and lives on the North Shore of Long Island, NY.
Please bring the following supplies to class:
- Sew Good Pincushions Pattern
- Fat 1/16 of hand dyed wool for strawberry
- Felt or wool scraps for top and flower
- 6” of ribbon or cord for the strawberry stem
- Beads and sequins (optional)
- Covered button kit (optional)
- Some type of strong thread such as upholstery thread
- Fat 1/16 of hand dyed wool for pickle
- Fill (Poly, cotton, wool, or batting scraps) or crushed walnut shells will be available during the class
- Embroidery floss or perle cotton

This event is held in-person in our Ohio Studio, located at 3792 Boettler Oaks Dr. Green, OH 44685.
Lunches will be provided each day of the workshop, as well as morning and afternoon refreshments, coffee, tea, and use of our fridge and kitchen. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate!
Supplies are available for purchase in-store during class if not purchased ahead of time.

Cancellation Policy (1/2-1 day classes)
Cancellation fees reflect the cost of registration, staff, instructor contracts, material acquisitions, and other services. This policy applies to all registrants, regardless of the reason for canceling. We encourage you to take our cancellation policies into consideration before registering for classes.
If you need to cancel your registration, you have the following options:
Transfer:
Registrants who cancel their enrollment in a workshop held in our Ohio studio may make a one-time transfer to any other workshop held in our studio.
- Transfers may be made either in the current workshop season, or any workshop in the following year. Transfers must be made more than 15 days prior to the workshop, and are subject to a 5% cancellation fee.
Refund:
If you prefer not to transfer your workshop registration, the following fees apply:
- More than 30 days prior to the workshop, refund of your deposit minus a 20% cancellation fee.
- Less than 30 days prior to the workshop, no refunds will be issued.
Redirect:
Registrants are able to send someone in their place into the workshop for no additional fee. In this case, no refunds will be issued, payment arrangements are the responsibility of the original registrant if needed.
