Create for a Cause
to benefit the Canton YWCA
Join us to Create for a Cause and help support women and children in need at the Canton YWCA! Spend the day sewing an Eco Sac tote - bring your own fabric and machine, or use the supplies we provide. Once finished, fill your bag with hygiene essentials and cozy items like hats, gloves, or scarves to share warmth and care this season.
Can't join us? You can still make a difference by donating items such as soap, shampoo, feminine products, toothpaste, and more (specific needs listed in the Supply List below!)

More about the Canton YWCA
The Canton YWCA is dedicated to empowering women and eliminating racism through programs that support safety, stability, and self-sufficiency. Their work includes providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and essential services for women and children facing homelessness or domestic violence.
By creating and filling Eco Sac totes, we’re helping the YWCA offer comfort and care to those rebuilding their lives — one small act of kindness at a time.
For the Eco Sac - pattern and all materials will be provided, but if you’d like to sew from your own stash, please bring:
- ½ yard of fabric for the exterior (canvas or linen recommended)
- ½ yard of fabric for the lining
- 1½ yards of webbing for handles
If you’d like to contribute items to fill the tote bags, the Canton YWCA is currently in need of:
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Soap or body wash
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Feminine hygiene products
- Deodorant
- Hairbrushes or combs
- Lotion
- Warm accessories (coats, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, etc.)
This event is held in-person in our Ohio Studio located at 3792 Boettler Oaks Dr. Green, OH 44685.
Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring a bagged lunch or a snack to share!
