The second section of the book cover adjustments for fit, as well as modification to change the necklines, sleeves, waistbands, add pockets and a selection of techniques for easy embellishments. "Sonya Philip gave very clear and detailed instructions on all aspects of clothes making. She started with the basics of definitions and working with patterns then moved into more advanced skills of tailoring clothes to a persons body and fashion sense. She goes over simple tailoring like lengthening and shortening the patterns then progresses to more complicated alterations like changing the bust of a shirt or the seat and rise for pants. After the sizing she goes over adjustments, she moves onto altering the patterns for style changes like changing the sleeve style, neckline, or hem of any garment pattern. Each sections clearly details how to make the alteration and is accompanied by clear illustrations so you don’t get lost. She makes sure that the instructions are good enough that anyone would be able to apply them to a multitude of patterns not just the four she provides. I’d feel comfortable using her instructions in the book to make any of the alterations or embellishments to a pattern." ~ Jordan

Yes, the patterns included on the book are printed on both sides of the pattern sheets and there are some pieces that overlap. This makes it necessary to trace them out.
