Delta Junction – Alaska

Lonnie Miller organized my amazing teaching trip to Delta Junction, Alaska. I taught a special Alaska designed Salmon bag as well as  a small embellished flower blocks class. The class was filled with enthusiastic students all willing to experiment with new stitches and threads.

I experienced a little of local fare and then Lonnie and Chris treated me to a few days in Denali National Park. It was a great Alaska adventure. A little wildlife, amazing scenery, white water rafting and many laughs.

Thanks so much Lonnie for all your hard work. I look forward to see all the students finished little quilts.

I have registered for Sue’s class in Birmingham, AL in November this year. It is to be a leaves class. I have Sue’s book and have nearly completed my own first leaves project. I want to be sure the class will be worthwhile for me. What is the focus of this class, is it the stitching or the composition or I suppose both?
Can you help me with some detail? I love Sue’s esthetic and other patterns but have not yet invested enough in the wools to do a larger project. Thanks!

The focus of the class is my technique of layering and stitching along with my knowledge of threads and creative stitching.
