Wool Penny Rugs – Vancouver Canada

I spent a lovely weekend in Vancouver Canada teaching for Uschi and Kerry who own the company Wool Penny Rugs. The classes were filled with enthusiastic students. In the first class we started the floral applique for a journal cover using wool, cotton and velvet applique then learnt a few stitches that would enhance the piece. The second class was focused on Leaf Play. Layering and creating unique leaves. It was a busy few days but at the end of class Uschi gave me a whirlwind tour of Vancouver starting with a little bit of retail therapy in Granville Island. During my trip I was also treated to great seafood. It was a great trip and I look forward to returning in 2014.

Sue, it was lovely to have the opportunity to meet you and learn your techniques. I commend you for teaching yourself how to stitch left handed for your students benefit.

I’m glad you had a brief tour of our city and hope you can spend more time here next time.

I’m having fun stitching my piece and being inspired by your book.

Sue, I wasn’t sure how the journal cover was going to turn out. Now that I’ve started putting that decorative stitches on and using silks. My cover is coming together. Maybe 50 more hours of stitch time.

Thank you of coming to Vancouver, B.C.

P.S. Under the picture of Vancouver you have CA. It should be B.C.
