I have just spent a wonderful 5 days in Sisters Oregon teaching a 3 day collaborative Folk Art class with Gwen Marston and two days of leaf embellishment at the Stitchin’ Post in Sisters. This is one of my favorite places to teach I love the NW and we were even treated to the first snow fall of the season. It has been cool but sunny just perfect weather to sew.
Gwen and I had 40 very enthusiastic, creative students. Our theme was trees and each student designed a fun piece incorporating the theme. The classes were held at the Five Pines Resort we had a lovely large room for class and walked to the local Brew Pub for lunch each day. Many students worked on a few stitches for embellishment.
My leaf classes were fun we spent the days layering and embellishing with wonderful fibers.
On Monday evening I shared a few stitches with the staff at the store. We had a relaxed evening eating and stitching on a wool needle case.
In between classes I have been working on stitching on a binding on a new quilt for market as well as stitching on my block of the month. I am heading home today and will be turning around tomorrow to fly to Houston for Quilt Market. Kelly and Cathy have been packing and assembling all week so our bags should be packed. I will just need to throw my clothes in the washing machine and pack again for our next venture.
Many thanks Tamara , Jean and all the staff at the Stitchin’ Post for making me feel so welcome.
