Store - Notions - SAJOU
For over fifty years, Jacques-Simon Sajou passed his time and ingenuity on fancy work. Maison Sajou was founded in 1828 with the object of selling articles for embroidery, tapestry, guipure, bobbin lace, crochet, weaving and pattern albums. After his death the family kept the company going for a period of time, but eventually the name lay dormant for over 50 years.
In 2005, Frédérique Crestin-Bille, an ardent collector of vintage sewing items decided to re-launch the Sajou name. Leaning on the appreciation that the name invokes, her idea was, not only to re-edit the collection of Sajou vintage albums, but also to offer a range of fancy works and quality haberdashery products.
Apart from a few rare exceptions, all Sajou products are made in France and benefit from the traditional know-how of the craftsmen and small companies that produce them.
