These beautiful Handwoven Trivets are truly a work of art, all while remaining functional by protecting surfaces from hot dish ware.
Each trivet is handwoven by women artisans from the Batoro tribe of the rural mountains of Western Uganda. These weavers are part of a cooperative that provides training to single mothers, widows, and other marginalized women to provide additional income. Each piece is made from all natural, sustainably sourced raffia and banana fibers and dyed with a unique, bold mix of natural dyes made from various plant materials grown in the artisan's villages.
