Explore the beauty and versatility of chain stitches in this hands-on class! In this session, you’ll learn several different types of chain stitches and how they can be used to add texture, movement, and detail to your projects. We’ll work with a variety of thread weights so you can see how each stitch looks and behaves with varying types. 

This class is focused on learning and practicing techniques, giving you the confidence to incorporate chain stitches into embroidery, cross stitch, and other creative projects. You’ll leave with a better understanding of stitch variations, thread choices, and how to use them to create unique designs.

Meet the instructor!

Sue Spargo is a celebrated quilt designer known for her vibrant, textural approach to contemporary folk art. Born in Zambia and raised in South Africa and England, her global upbringing deeply influences her colorful, layered designs. Now based in Ohio, she is renowned for combining hand-dyed wool, silk, velvet, and intricate embroidery to create highly embellished wool quilts. A self-taught artist, Sue has published several books and teaches workshops worldwide, encouraging personal storytelling through textile art.
