Intro to Wool Applique

Get back to basics and join us for this introduction to wool applique! Learn Sue's preferred method for applique, create freezer paper templates, and get helpful tips for cutting and pinning. Then, dive into needles and threads, techniques for appliqué, and learn how you can perfect your points! This class is great for beginners, or as a refresher course for those wanting to refine their skills.

Create a sampler showcasing your work, and finish it into a wall hanging, needle roll, or keep it as a practice piece as you expand your knowledge!

Meet the instructor!

Abby came to us through a high school work program in 2014, and we welcomed her back full time in 2017. She's a jack of all trades, having moved through departments, finding a home as our shop manager as well as coordinating Sue's Ohio classes. Over the past few years, Abby's embroidery skills have flourished through making shop samples, teaching beginner embroidery classes, and even designing her own pincushion kit! She enjoys working face to face with customers and students, and has a great eye for color and design. 

Each class registration includes Wool Applique Starter Kit as well as use of our collection of Ellana Wool Threads during class. You will also need to bring:

We will have items available for purchase during class, so no worries if you don’t have everything on this list!


  • Class is held in our Ohio Studio located at 3792 Boettler Oaks Dr, Green, OH 44685. 
  • Coffee and tea are provided, as well as use of our fridge and kitchen. Lunch will not be provided, please bring a bagged lunch or plan accordingly!
  • Supplies are available for purchase in-store during class if not purchased ahead of time.

Cancellation fees reflect the cost of registration, staff, instructor contracts, material acquisitions, and other services. This policy applies to all registrants, regardless of the reason for canceling. We encourage you to take our cancellation policies into consideration before registering for classes.

If you need to cancel your registration, you have the following options:

Transfer: 

Registrants who cancel their enrollment in a workshop held in our Ohio studio may make a one-time transfer to any other workshop held in our studio.

  • Transfers may be made either in the current workshop season, or any workshop in the following year. Transfers must be made more than 15 days prior to the workshop, and are subject to a 5% cancellation fee.

Refund:

If you prefer not to transfer your workshop registration, the following fees apply:

  • More than 30 days prior to the workshop, refund of your deposit minus a 20% cancellation fee.
  • Less than 30 days prior to the workshop, no refunds will be issued.

Redirect:

Registrants are able to send someone in their place into the workshop for no additional fee. In this case, no refunds will be issued, payment arrangements are the responsibility of the original registrant if needed.
