BLOCK OF THE MONTH 2013, 'BIRD DANCE', SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED; PROGRAM IS FULL. 

I am so excited to be entering my ninth annual Block of the Month (BOM) program. Inspiration for this year’s design came from an old tile floor I found while visiting Sicily last spring.  The finished size of the quilt will be approximately 38 inches x 44 inches.

BIRD DANCE will be constructed from neutral color backgrounds, layered with ribbons and cottons, featuring bright, funky birds.  These funky birds will be highly embellished with lots of new stitches and wonderful threads.

During this 12-month program (January 2013 to December 2013), you will receive a monthly kit to applique and embellish 3 Dancing Bird blocks.  Each kit will include a pattern, hand-dyed wools, velvets and textural fabrics needed to make the quilt.  The monthly kits will also include embellishment threads, most of which will be hand dyed in-house and by select dyers.  The BOM program will also include the quilt Borders, Backing, Binding and Label.  As our kits are "hand-dyed to order", substitutions of kit contents are unavailable.

My new book, CREATIVE STITCHING, will be a requirement for this BOM program.  Directions for the stitches used each month will be referenced by page numbers from this book.  New stitches not found in my book will be illustrated on the monthly pattern.  Cost of the book is $32.00.  My book will be available mid November.

*PLEASE NOTE: Shipping/Handling charges will be adjusted accordingly for any additional items you have added to your monthly BOM orders, throughout the year.

APPLIQUE THREADS
I use Genziana wool thread ($7.50 each) and Italian cotton 60/2 thread ($3.50 each) for all my wool and cotton appliqué.  These threads will be optional additions to your monthly BOM.  More details on thread options will be discussed once you have joined the program.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
To secure your spot in the 2013 BOM program, a $25 Membership Fee is required and is nonrefundable.  SIGN UPS will be accepted NOW through December 31, or until the limited spaces are filled. Monthly billing does not begin until January 2013.

Within a week of signing up, you will get an acknowledgement receipt via email, confirming your place in the 2013 BOM program from our BOM Coordinatior, Mary. Early in November, you will then receive our "WELCOME" email, which will contain all the 2013 BOM project details.  Monthly kits will be shipped out each week, and are determined by the order in which sign ups were received.
