2008 Block of the Month
Robin Run the Hedge

The format will be a little different in 2008 as I have decided to do a larger whole cloth quilt. The finished size of the quilt will be approximately 46” x 62”. It will make a spectacular wall hanging or center of a larger quilt.

As we will be building the whole cloth wool background (close to 3 yards of wool) in the first 3 months the cost will be $68.00 for each month (January, February and March) with S&H $7.50. And the following 9 months (April- December) will be $34.00 a month with S&H at $6.50 and $7.50 in December. The finishing kit in December will include the backing, binding and a hand-stamped label.

The background will be pieced in different textures of wool with an overall vine design with flowers, buds, berries and leaves and will be finished with 13 different feathered friends. It will be embellished with embroidery, ribbons and beading.

I am really looking forward to be offering a different approach to the 2008 BOM and this gives both Wendy (my sister who patiently dyes all the wool yardage), Michelle (who then cuts it into millions of pieces) and myself new and exciting challenges.

Kits will be mailed on the 15th of each month starting January 15, 2008. We will charge your credit card each month at the same time.

The wool threads and notions that I use will be optional.  I will let you know monthly via email the thread colors used for that month.  You can either opt for me to automatically ship the threads to you each month or select the colors you do not already own.

Auto-ship is a great way to collect these threads gradually on a monthly basis or if you have been using some of them in previous years you can expand your collection by adding individual threads. The threads are $7.00 each. I use these wonderful threads for all my wool appliqué, couching and machine quilting on wool and cotton fabrics.

Once you have signed up you will hear from me via email around January 1 to update you on the year’s project.
