2010 Block of the Month: Crimson Tweed

This is the sixth annual BOM. I have been asked by many of my students to design a Holiday Quilt. So here it is! The background will be varying shades of cream and taupe using hand dyed wools, linen and fun cotton prints. The appliqué will be deep reds and greens with many textures, velvets and embellishments. Stitches and beads will also be used.

The finished size of the quilt will be 40” x 52”. It will make a spectacular wall hanging for your holiday season.

The monthly cost for the kit will be $35.00 except in October and November it will be $48.00 each month due to the large borders. The monthly cost for S & H will be $6.50 for eleven months and $8.50 in December.

The program runs for 12 months with a finishing kit in December which will include the backing, binding and a hand-stamped label.

Sign up now as we have put a limit on the sign ups for 2010. This year we have 252 on the BOM and we have realize that we are unable to take larger numbers as we hand dye all our own wool in house. Michelle, Cathy and I also want to keep up the personal customer service we find very important to our business.

I shall accept sign-ups now thru December 31 or until we are full.

Kits will be mailed on the 15th of each month starting January 15, 2010. We will charge your credit card each month at the same time.

The notions, wool and cotton threads that I use will be optional.  I will let you know monthly via email the thread colors used for that month.  You can either opt for me to automatically ship the threads to you each month or select the colors you do not already own.
Auto-ship is a great way to collect these threads gradually on a monthly basis or if you have been using some of them in previous years you can expand your collection by adding individual colors.

The Genziana wool threads are $7.00 each and the 60/2 Italian cotton threads are $3.00 each.

I use these wonderful threads for all my wool and cotton appliqué as well as embellishing.
